Student Chapters Program

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Student Chapters Program provides the opportunity for students studying construction-related fields to join the home building industry's largest trade association. Students studying construction trades like carpentry, electrical, HVAC, masonry or plumbing, will find membership to be a rewarding experience. By becoming a member of a local chapter, students have a chance to network with building professionals and suppliers, participate in special activities and receive the same valuable benefits and services our builder members enjoy.

Locally, NAHB's Student Chapters are hosted by local vocational/technical schools in affiliation with the Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh (BAMP). In addition to NAHB member benefits, students who join a BAMP chapter are given expanded opportunities to obtain an up-close look at how the home building industry works in support of their efforts in finding a rewarding career in the construction industry.

Through BAMP's educational foundation, Housing Industry Foundation for Education (HIFE), student chapter members gain access to a wide variety of education and career development programs. BAMP's student members can participate in professional mentoring/construction programs, attend BAMP's annual trade show and take fieldtrips to construction sites to observe the application of modern building materials and techniques. Chapter members also become eligible for BAMP's continuing education scholarships and have access to its job placement and employment benefit programs.
