The Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh is a non-profit trade association of residential and light commercial builders and associates including suppliers, subcontractors, lenders, manufacturers, utilities, realtors, architects, and engineers. Our primary purpose is the promotion of homeownership and the improvement of the residential building industry. Originally chartered in 1938 as the Home Builders Association of Allegheny County, the Association representing Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties, has since grown to become one of the largest local home builders associations in the country.

Membership in BAMP includes membership in the Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA), headquartered in  Lemoyne, PA, and the National Association of Home Builders, headquartered in Washington, D.C.

The Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA) is the unified voice for the home building industry and the housing consumer. PBA serves its members by providing proactive leadership on state regulatory and legislative issues and by offering services to its 35 local associations that enhance the professionalism of its members. PBA serves Pennsylvania communities and consumers through its efforts to protect homeownership rights and advocate for affordable housing options.

The PBA Workers' Compensation Program is an alternative market program established by the Pennsylvania Builders Association in 1999 to help members leverage their group buying power to save on workers' compensation costs. The program is only available to association members and since inception has grown to nearly 600 accounts with almost $9 million in premium volume.

PBA Workers' Compensation program participants don't:

  • Experience large surprise audits

  • Pay the same high work comp premium when business is slow

  • Burden operating cash flow with a large down payment of premium

PBA helps businesses compete with the parallel pay® program offered, allowing members to pay insurance premiums as they go, automatically through payroll service or manually as they pay employees.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) helps its members build communities. Each year, NAHB’s members construct about 80% of the new homes built in the United States, both single-family and multifamily. Email for your NAHB PIN to access the benefits, education, and buying power of NAHB.

A federation of more than 700 state and local associations, NAHB represents more than 140,000 members. About one-third are home builders and remodelers. The others work in related specialties such as sales and marketing, housing finance, and manufacturing and supplying building materials.
